An unknown substance wafted through a Newark apartment building, sending at least 29 people to the hospital. Emergency responders were called around 11:25 a.m. to the six-family building at 521 S. 17th St. after residents complained of light headedness, sore throats and itchy eyes. Ted Kucowski and his son Brandon, 8, compete in the New York City Triathlon. Ted pulled, towed and pushed his son, who is considered a quadriplegic in the competition.
